Sunny Jaye
Owing to my family's life long love of the mountains, I find myself drawing inspiration for my life and for my art from it’s profound beauty. I was born and raised in the mountains just over the Continental Divide from Bozeman. Fishing, hunting, snowshoeing, hiking, camping, skiing and exploring gave me inspiration for my art from a very young age. My subjects for my stained glass mosaics are often my surroundings: trout, wildflowers, birds and mountains.
Stained glass mosaic is a different technique than traditional stained glass. Instead of copper foil, soldiering or lead caming as in traditional stained glass; the pieces are broken and arranged with grout. Please feel free to let someone help you hold up my pieces in the light. I love how glass art brings color into a room even on a dreary day!
I am currently a teacher in Bozeman and my students inspire me as they let art flow freely through their creative souls without the inhibitions of adulthood. I am grateful to be part of such a talented group of artists at Artists' Gallery and thankful for this opportunity to share my art.
