Artist's Statement
Linda Williams received her BFA in Studio Art from Montana State University, earning the Strand Award, and her MA in Modern Art History, Theory, and Criticism from Azusa Pacific University along with postgraduate work at the University of Wyoming and Northwestern University. Having been a watercolor painter for fifteen years, she now paints exclusively in oils and enjoys painting the intimacy of a still life as well as the enormity of the Western landscape. She served as the Chairman of the Buffalo Bill Art Show and Sale in Cody, Wyoming 1989-90 and has been on numerous boards of art organizations. She has written for Fine Art Connoisseur and Southwest Art Magazine. In 2012 she began work on the founding of the Bozeman Art Museum and currently serves as the Executive Director. A love of art and an understanding of the importance of art in our everyday lives grounds her life and work.
