Duncan Bullock
Artist's Statement
Living in the Yellowstone ecosystem for more than three decades, Duncan takes full advantage of its incredible natural offerings. She mainly paints en plein air, sometimes using river water on the fly. Landscapes, florals, and abstracts make up her portfolio but simply capturing the colors or the elevated mood of an experience outdoors or indoors determines what she will create. She is obsessed with transparency and light, the way pigments mix on wet paper with intentional and unintentional results, and the merging of abstract and realistic aspects of images. Duncan began her fine art degree pursuit in Michigan and completed it at MSU-Bozeman.
